Director Hwang Dong-hyuk's latest offering on Netflix - the Korean survival show Squid Game is breaking the internet for all the right reasons. The show, which premiered globally on September 17, has topped up every viewership chart. Not only the show but its actors have also become quite popular on social media.
Jung Ho Yeon has now become the most-followed Korean actress on Instagram. The actress, who played a major role in the hit K-drama, has surpassed Song Hye Kyo to take the second spot with a total of 13.5 million followers, as of October 5.
As per reports, Jung Ho Yeon's Instagram roughly went from 400,000 to 10,000,000 followers in a span of just two weeks, generating an increase of 20 times more followers than any other star so far.
Squid Game is a South Korean survival drama written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. The nine-episode series tells the story of a group of people who risk their lives in a survival game called the Squid Games for KRW 45.6 billion prize money.
