John Wick actor Lance Reddick death: Co-stars Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry pay tributes; wife Stephanie Reddick pens an emotional note

John Wick actor and Keanu Reeves’ & Halle Berry’s co-star Lance Reddick passed away on March 17 at the age of 60 years. Lance was a popular name in Hollywood and had worked in films such as the John Wick franchise, The Wire, Resident Evil, Oz and others. Keanu Reeves and John Wick director Chad Stahelski issued a joint statement and paid tribute to the actor; Hally Berry and Lance’s wife, Stephanie Reddick also paid tributes.

Taking to Lance's Instagram profile, Stephanie paid tribute to her husband and wrote, “Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can't begin to express how grateful I am to have them. And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game. Keanu and Chad issued a joint statement that read, “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick. He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with," they said. "Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly."

John Wick 4’s studio, Lionsgate, said in a statement, “The world of Wick would not be what it is without Lance Reddick and the unparalleled depth he brought to Charon's humanity and unflappable charisma. Lance leaves behind an indelible legacy and hugely impressive body of work, but we will remember him as our lovely, joyful friend and Concierge. We're stunned and heartbroken, and our deepest condolences go to his beloved family and his fans all around the world."

Halle took to Instagram to share an emotional post for Lance and wrote, “I send my heartfelt condolences to the family and all those who knew and loved Lance. I’ll never forget the huge smile and heartfelt hug Lance gave me as I walked on the set of John Wick for the first time. On Friday, Lance’s death was confirmed by his publicist Mia Hansen in a statement after he was found dead in his Los Angeles home. Confirming his death, Hansen said, “Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes. Lance will be greatly missed.”

After The Wire Reddick played Charon, a concierge at a New York hotel who worked alongside Reeves' hitman in John Wick. Reddick is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick, and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick, his publicist said.
