Amber Heard’s former assistant testifies against her in Johnny Depp libel case, says ‘she twisted her sexual assault story for own use’

Amber Heard’s former personal assistant claimed on Wednesday that the actress used her violent sexual assault incidence for her own use ‘twisting’ it to suit her needs. Amber’s personal assistant Kate James gave testimony at Johnny Depp’s libel trial case against a British tabloid that had called him a ‘wife beater’. Amber had alleged that the actor had physically abused, threatened and hit her while they were married. However, Depp has denied all allegations of abusing Amber.

Kate who worked for Amber between 2012 and 2015 gave evidence in support of Depp saying that she was raped at machete-point in Brazil about 25 years ago. She had told the incident to Amber and was shocked when she misrepresented and exploited the incident. Kate said, “She referred directly to a violent rape that occurred to me 26 years ago and she twisted it into her own story and she used it for her own use. I am a sexual violence survivor and that’s very, very serious to take that stance if you are not one.” Kate gave evidence via video link form Los Angeles.
