Smriti Irani questions bollywood's silence: 'If They're silent on operation sindoor, Stop watching them'

Smriti Irani recently reacted to Bollywood's silence during Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Army in response to the terror attack that killed 26 civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In the interview, Irani said that if an actor does not stand with the country and their silence hurts people, then the common citizen can protest by switching off the TV.

"If someone is not with the country and their silence hurts you, then stop watching them," she said in an interview to India Today. She also said that the country no longer waits for an actor to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. She said, "The country is now aware of these truths." Smriti Irani also clarified that if some film personalities do not support the army, it does not mean that the entire country is silent. She stressed that the whole country stands with its army and the respect of the army will not be diminished.

Another aspect of this interview is that Irani is soon making a comeback on the small screen. She will be seen again in the role of Tulsi Virani in the reboot of the popular show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. It is worth noting that this statement has come at a time when there is military tension between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has suffered heavy losses in the action taken by India. At the same time, there is a debate on the silence of Bollywood on social media - some praised the army's operation, while many big stars remained silent
