Storyline 

‘Jan Neta’ follows Thalapathy Vetri Kondan (Vijay), a former cop who is released from prison and unexpectedly takes responsibility for Viji (Mamitha Baiju), the daughter of a jailer who once stood by him. Wanting her to become fearless and independent, he inspires her to join the armed forces. But their lives take a dangerous turn when Muthuvel (Bobby Deol), a ruthless terrorist, launches a deadly attack on the Indian Navy, forcing Vetri Kondan to confront the past he had buried for years. A mysterious teddy bear serves as a crucial link connecting the film's biggest twists. Meanwhile, Kayal (Pooja Hegde), a journalist, shares a romantic relationship with Vetri Kondan and stands by him through the unfolding crisis. Sathyamoorthy (Prakash Raj) plays a pivotal role in the narrative, adding depth to the conflict. Acting 

This is an emotional film for Vijay fans as it marks his final outing as a full-time actor before stepping into politics. He is in top form, delivering action, emotion and whistle-worthy mass moments with effortless charisma. Bobby Deol is one of the film's biggest strengths, looking incredibly stylish and menacing in a role that's far grander than anything we've seen him do in Bollywood. Pooja Hegde has a charming screen presence and shares easy chemistry with Vijay, though her role could have been explored more. Mamitha Baiju leaves a strong impression in an emotionally significant part, while Prakash Raj brings his trademark intensity and experience to the narrative. Together, the ensemble adds weight to this commercial entertainer.

Direction 

H. Vinoth blends action, family emotions, patriotism and commercial entertainment into a film designed for the big screen. While a few portions feel stretched and some twists are predictable, the narrative keeps the momentum going with well-executed action sequences and mass moments.

Dialogues 

The dialogues are packed with punch and are clearly written to elevate Vijay's heroism. Many of the one-liners are whistle-worthy and are likely to receive loud cheers in theatres.

Music 

One thing Vijay never disappoints with is his dance. Once again, he owns every dance number with effortless charisma. The songs are energetic, colourful and entertaining. While a few tracks may feel slightly long, they perfectly fit the film's commercial tone.
