Sonam Bajwa’s punjabi film Godday Godday Cha, centered and led by her as the lead protagonist has won the national award for best punjabi language film.
She has been a trailblazer in both commercial cinema and also in films with strong female lead characters and “winning the national award for best punjabi film for our film Godday Godday Cha is a truly humbling and great feeling! Having received the audiences love at the box office for the film i feel truly blessed to get the appreciation from the country at the national film awards for our film”
This is Sonam’s second punjabi film to win a national award, her first was for the film Punjab 1984 directed by the director of Kesari part 1 and the upcoming Border 2 Anurag Singh.
Sonam says she “will continuing being a part of both commercial and path breaking cinema in both Punjabi and Hindi languages, this is what gives me a high as an actor to do cinema that entertains, engages and is appreciated by both audiences and our nation a like”
