PeepingMoon Exclusive: ‘I was a pathetic actor, apologise to all my producers and co-actors for dealing with me,’ says Somy Ali

Former actress Somy Ali recently sat for an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon.com where she spoke about her Bollywood career and claimed that she was a ‘pathetic actor’ and had no interest in acting. Somy had worked in 10 films after which she quit acting and moved to the US. Extending apologies to her co-stars Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Chunky Pandey and Suniel Shetty, she spoke about her Bollywood stint.

Talking about her film career, she said, “I am baffled that how I did 10 films. From Salman, to Sanjay, to Saif to Chunky, to Govinda, to Mithun da, Om Puri, I send them my heartiest apologies for dealing with me as an actor and especially Mithun da with whom I did four films; he was so patient with me. Sunil, I am so sorry, I was the worst dancer. I am still baffled and I request all my directors and producers to forgive me. I had no interest in acting, I never went for dance rehearsals. Saroj ji used to be so mad at me all the time. I was so happy to work with her, she was amazing but I had no interest in acting. I never rehearsed my dialogues.”

She further added and said, “Sunil used to yell at me and said, ‘You need to go to your dance rehearsals’. The most patient person with me was Mithun da. I remember there was one dance sequence, again I did not go for the dance rehearsal and it was a film called Yaar Gaddar and it was a song called Tum Hi Tum Ho Meri Zindagi and it was my turn to do the shot. So he told me, “Main sone jar aha hoon, Somy tumhara jab ho jaye toh mujhe utha dena aakar ke.”

Somy's full interview will go live on PeepingMoon's YouTube channel on March 12. Till then, take a sneak-peek into the conversation:
