House of the Dragon Teaser: 'GOT' prequel shows if the Targaryens keep the Iron Throne in this game of 'fire and blood'

The new teaser of House of the Dragon was released on Thursday and it teases an ‘ugly game’. The Game of Thrones spin-off is based on the history of Targaryens. The new teaser features the House of Targaryen promising to keep their hold in Wesreros. The prequel, which is set 200 years before the events portrayed in Game of Thrones, will tell the story of the Targaryen dynasty's reign.

The teaser trailer shows the House of Targaryen pledging to keep control over the Wesreros. But considering the ruling family is fighting its own internal conflicts to ascend the throne, we can sense the show is headed towards showing how eventually the Targaryens succumbed to the other houses – Stark, Velaryon, and Lannister.

We also see Ser Otto Hightower, Hand of the King telling his daughter Alicent, to “play an ugly game”. According to him, “You have the determination to win it.”

The series will start airing on HBO and HBO Max globally on August 21. In India, it will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. Game of Thrones came to an end in 2019 after 8 successful seasons.
