Aaliyah Kashyap reacts to MeToo allegations against father Anurag Kashyap, says 'misrepresentation of his character bothered me'

Aaliyah Kashyap, the daughter of Anurag Kashyap and his former wife Aarti Bajaj, never shies away from talking about her personal life. She is an influencer with her own YouTube channel. Aaliyah shuttles between Mumbai and U.S. Now, as she is back in India to spend some time with her father, Aaliyah appeared on a chat show. Talking to the host, Aaliyah reacted to MeToo claims against Anurag.

Aaliyah confessed that the MeToo claims bothered her. Calling her father the 'biggest softy teddy bear', she told, "The #MeToo claims bothered me a lot. The hate doesn’t get to me, it is the misrepresentation of his character that bothers me. People think he is a terrible man, but ask anyone close to me and they will say that he’s the biggest softy teddy bear you’ll ever meet."

Aaliyah shared that Anurag tries to keep his things away from her. "This is what gives me anxiety, and not really the hate. I know that whatever hate I get for him is just from people who don’t have anything better to do with their lives. My dad also has been trying to make more of an effort to keep his things away from me because he doesn’t want it to make my anxiety worse," she added.

In September last year, an actress accused Anurag of forcing himself on her. Her tweet was noticed by Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of National Commission for Women. Anurag reacted to the claims and called them baseless. His legal team issued a statement too.
