Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is in the news these days for his film Coolie. Meanwhile, he is once again in the headlines, this time due to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) organized in Australia. Aamir Khan arrived at this event with his girlfriend Gauri Spratt and inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp.
At the opening ceremony, Aamir said, "It is a matter of pride to start the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It is really a big thing to come here and celebrate cinema. I have come after many years and am very happy. My colleagues used to praise this festival a lot, but now I am coming here myself and experiencing it."
Aamir also showed respect for Indian traditions on the international stage. He took off his shoes before lighting the lamp. During this, he also launched the poster of the much-awaited film *Baksho Bondi*, in which actors Tillotama Shome and Jim Sarbh were present. About the film, Aamir said, "I wish the team of Baksho Bondi and all the participating films all the best. The Melbourne audience will definitely enjoy these films."
Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, "It is an honor for us that Aamir Khan will inaugurate IFFM 2025." About the festival, which will run from 14 to 24 August, Aamir said, "This is a great initiative that brings people and cultures closer. I am happy to be a part of it, and I am sure that the filmmakers and films shown here will give a great experience."
