Rajinikanth celebrates 50 years in cinema with heartfelt Independence Day message

South superstar Rajinikanth wished his fans and countrymen on the occasion of Independence Day. He also expressed his gratitude to those who congratulated him on completing 50 years of his acting career. 

In his tweet, he wrote “Heartiest greetings on the 79th Independence Day. Heartfelt gratitude to my friend and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Hon. M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Leader of Opposition Edappadi Palaniswami, BJP leader Nayyanar Nagendran, my friends Annamalai, Sasikala Ammaiyar, Dinakaran, Premalatha Ammaiyar and many other political friends, all colleagues from the film world like Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Vairamuthu, Ilaiyaraaja and the gods of my life—my fans.”

Rajinikanth's much-awaited film ‘Coolie’ was released on 14 August and is performing brilliantly at the box office. On the first day of release, the film made a blockbuster opening collection of 65 crores. By the afternoon of the second day (15 August, Friday), the total collection reached 84.05 crores with earnings of 19.05 crores.

Many big stars have appeared with Rajinikanth in ‘Coolie’. Aamir Khan from Bollywood and Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan from South Industry have played strong roles. Especially the look and acting of Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna is being discussed a lot. Aamir Khan also expressed happiness on working with Rajinikanth and said that this experience was very special for him.
