Twinkle Khanna is a proud wife today. As husband Akshay Kumar pledged to donate Rs 25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-CARES Fund to combat Coronavirus, the actress-turned-interior-designer-turned-author tweeted her support. Akshay’s contribution is the biggest by any film star till now and has won hearts all over, so much so that he is trending on Twitter under 8 different hashtags.
Akshay has pledged the money from his savings which is the largest amount by any celebrity so far. Apparently, Twinkle revealed that she was a little apprehensive about dipping in their savings but the actor won her over by saying, “I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing."

Akshay’s contribution has spurred other stars to also donate and pledge their alliance to PM Modi’s initiative to fight the deadly and novel Coronavirus. Varun Dhawan, Suresh Raina and several others have pledged to donate to the funds as well as common people who are doing their own contributions.
Akshay had previously also applauded PM Modi’s call for a complete lockdown in the country amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. Through tweets and videos he has been urging people to stay indoors and practice self-isolation, self-quarantine and social distancing to fight the pandemic. He even called the citizens who are adhering to government guidelines as the real heroes.
