Sridevi Demise: Indian Ambassador Navdeep Suri: It does take 2-3 days to complete processes

On February 24th, the industry received a major jolt after hearing about the death of the legendary actress Sridevi at the mere age of 54. While initially it was reported 'cardiac arrest' being the cause of death, according to forensic reports, the actress died to 'accidental drowning'.

On February 25th, the Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navdeep Singh Suri assured "all the possible assistance" to the family of the veteran actress.

“We are in touch with the family and local authorities to provide all the possible assistance,” Suri told a leading media house. The diplomat also underscored that the "police are engaged in forensics report."

The ambassador again took to Twitter to share the about the current situation. He wrote:

The media interest in untimely demise of #Sridevi is understandable. But the frenzy of speculation does not help. Imp to note that:
1. We are working with local authorities to ensure that mortal remains can be sent to India at the earliest. We are on the job.
2. We are in regular contact with the family of #Sridevi and other well-wishers. We share their pain.
3. Our experience in similar cases tells us that it does take 2-3 days to complete processes
4. We leave it to the experts to determine cause of demise Let’s be responsible

Tomorrow would be the third day of the actress' demise. Once brought to Mumbai, Sridevi Ji’s body will be taken to the Celebrations Ground in Lokhandwala for friends and her legion of fans to pay their last respects. From there, it would be moved to the Pawan Hans crematorium.
