The first trailer for Marvel Studios’ What If…? has finally arrived bringing us the paramount question that if one thing changes then what kind of ripple effects would that cause and how different will the outcome be? The series that is set to premiere on Disney+ showcases compelling and re-imagined famous events from Marvel Cinematic Universe, creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities.
In the new trailer, we see Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa as the Star-Lord instead of Peter Quill and we see him with both Gamora and Yondu. Meanwhile, his nemesis Killmonger actually teams up with Tony Stark aka Iron Man to get up to some kind of badassery. Peggy Carter appears to have taken the Super Soldier serum making her Captain Carter instead of Steve Rogers.

The trailer also shows zombie versions of Iron Man and Captain America a nod to the 2005-2006 storyline from comics written by Robert Kirkman (best known for The Walking Dead) and drawn by Sean Phillips. Scarlett Witch appears in a shot in the trailer but it is not revealed whether she is Wanda Maximoff or someone else. We also see snippets of everyone from The Ancient One to Thor to Hulk to Doctor Strange to Loki to Hawkeye to Howard the Duck and the Ultrons. It’s safe to say that things are going to get pretty juicy and interesting in What If…?
The new animated series is directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer. What If...? will premiere on August 11 on Disney+Hotstar.
