There has been a tremendous growth on the digital platform and shows on various genres and amazing storylines are being produced. Now, Zee5 has come up with yet another gripping story in Kaafir starring Mirza and Mohit Raina who are making their digital debut with this show. The show is set in Kashmir.

After the teaser, poster and motion poster the trailer of  Kaafir has been released afternoon. The trailer opens with a little girl reciting India’s National Anthem followed by Pakistan’s National Anthem when she sees her mother. The scene itself evokes a sense of foreboding that this is not your usual India vs Pakistan kind of series, where it is easy to choose sides. Here nothing is black and white but a murky grey.

The trailer shows Dia (as Kainaz) as a young Pakistani woman who is accused of being a militant when she comes to India from Pakistan under a series of strange circumstances and is unable to go back.  She is accused of being a terrorist and her daughter is born behind bars. Mohit Raina who is a journalist/lawyer helps Kainaz and investigates her case so that she can get justice. In a nutshell, the trailer revolves around the relationship between a mother and her daughter and her tryst to battle out the allegations levied against her.

Kaafir is visually stunning and keeps us intrigued throughout without giving away too many details. The background score is captivating. Mohit is impressive as the lawyer who comes out of practice to fight for Dia’s case. Dia shines in the trailer of this web series the way she has never been able to do in films.

Kaafir is helmed by Bhavani Iyer and directed by Sonam Nair. It is produced by Siddharth P. Malhotra and Sapana Malhotra and is slated to release on June 15 on Zee5.
