Storyline
‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ takes forward the story of Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) and his family after the events of the previous films. Vijay has spent years protecting his family and keeping the truth surrounding Sam Deshmukh’s death hidden, but the case is far from over. Meera Deshmukh (Tabu) continues to look for answers to her son’s murder, while SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar (Jaideep Ahlawat) takes charge of the investigation and begins looking at the old case from a fresh perspective. As Rajveer starts putting together the pieces that could expose Vijay’s carefully constructed story, lawyer Indrajith Shetty (Prakash Raj) also enters the picture. With the investigation getting closer to the truth and new threats emerging, Vijay once again has to stay several steps ahead to protect his family. Whether he can once again outsmart those trying to uncover the truth forms the crux of the film.
Acting
Ajay Devgn once again owns Vijay Salgaonkar, bringing the character’s trademark restraint and intensity to the fore. Tabu is equally powerful as Meera Deshmukh, carrying her character’s pain and determination with ease. Jaideep Ahlawat is a strong addition to the franchise, following the impact Akshaye Khanna made in the previous chapter. Prakash Raj is terrific as Indrajith Shetty; he brings such authority to the character that it becomes difficult to take your eyes off him. Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta also remain effective as the Salgaonkar family.
Direction
Abhishek Pathak keeps the focus firmly on the franchise’s biggest strength, its battle of minds. He builds the tension through the investigation, the family’s fear and Vijay’s constant attempts to stay ahead, while introducing new characters without losing the essence of ‘Drishyam’.
Dialogues
Aamil Keeyan Khan deserves special mention for the dialogues. His writing gives the characters sharp, memorable and hard-hitting lines that land particularly well during the confrontations. Several dialogues have the kind of punch and emotional weight that could quickly find their way into social media conversations and become audience favourites.
Music
There is no major emphasis on songs, but the music and background score complement the suspense, emotional beats and tension without overpowering the story.
Overall
‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ is a satisfying blend of suspense, emotion and mind games. If you love the franchise, watch it on the big screen; and if you haven’t seen the earlier films, watch them first and then experience this conclusion with the full impact. It fully deserves 4 Moons. The extra half Moon is for Jaideep Ahlawat whose performance is paisa vasool!
