Founded by the legendary late poet Kaifi Azmi and led by the incredible veteran actress and activist Shabana Azmi, the Mijwan Welfare Society empowers rural women artisans in Uttar Pradesh through education, skill development, and employment.

For 14 years, master couturier Manish Malhotra has been the bridge between grassroots craftsmanship and global haute couture. By integrating the intricate, traditional Chikankari embroidery created by these local craftswomen into modern silhouettes, Manish gives India’s timeless textile heritage a monumental platform.
