Chaos Walking trailer: Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley and Nick Jonas present an intriguing sci-fi thriller where every thought is on display

The trailer for Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley starrer dystopian thriller Chaos Walking has been unveiled after a long wait. Director Doug Liman’s sci-fi adventure has been in development since 2011 and was stuck in production since August 2017. Based on the first book by British-American author Patrick Ness’ The Knife of Never Letting Go in the Chaos Walking trilogy, the trailer sets the film’s premise- a world where there are no women and the men’s thoughts can be seen through images around their heads that are called ‘Noise’.

Viola Eade (Daisy) literally crashes on the planet where she meets Todd Hewitt (Tom) who has never seen a girl before. A voice over from Mads Mikkelsen explains that the men’s thoughts swarm around their heads, and he informs Viola that the women are all dead. The sci-fi thriller looks promising with an edge-of-the-seat background score and unknown forces that want to kidnap Viola. The way ‘Noise’ is depicted is also very intriguing and interesting as its basically a literary device but has been brought visually in a very clever and subtle way.
