Following the critical appreciation of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ Aamir Khan is believed to have made a documentary that chronicles the personal journeys of the ten neurodivergent individuals who acted as basketball players in the film. “Each has an unique background and Aamir is keen on sharing their journeys — from early childhood to their big-screen debut,” a source told PeepingMoon.com. “The spotlight is also on their parents, who are the real champions. These families fought numerous challenges to ensure their children were seen, heard, and respected. This documentary celebrates their resilience and highlights the societal barriers they’ve overcome.”
The untitled documentary was apparently shot concurrently with the film and is in the final stage of editing. Sonu Bakshi, who has assisted Aamir for the last few years, has directed the project, and it will reportedly release on an OTT platform or through Aamir Khan Productions’ YouTube channel. “‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ educated audiences about neurodivergence. This documentary offers an intimate look at the lives of these differently-abled actors from birth to adulthood. It’s about treating them not as exceptions, but as equals,” the source added.
