Kit Harington and Richard Madden to reunite in Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’; ‘Game of Thrones’ fans rejoice

Disney’s D23 Expo had a slew of surprises that had all the fans reeling with excitement. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that Kit Harington will play Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight in the upcoming superhero film The Eternals. Not only this, Richard Madden who played Harington’s brother in the HBO series Game of Thrones will also feature in the film and will play the role of Ikaris in The Eternals.

At D23 Expo, Feige also confirmed that Gemma Chan will play Sersi in the film. The Eternals will also star Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, and Lia McHugh as Sprite. All the cast members were present at D23 barring Harington.

The Eternals will be directed by Chloe Zhao and is set to release on November 6, 2020. During the D23, Feige said, “The Eternals focuses on a group of ancient, everlasting beings, the film will span eons in their lives.” Harington is slated to play a non-Eternal named Dane Whitman.
