EXCLUSIVE: Kasautii Zindagi Kay’s Anurag Basu AKA Cezzane Khan speaks about the show's remake

Actor Cezzane Khan, best remembered as Anurag Basu from Ekta Kapoor's hit show, Kasautii Zindagi Kay says he is not fond of Indian television shows. However, he is happy to hear that KZK is back with a remake. And guess what? The actor has no idea about the star-cast but is confident about the fact that Ekta will never go wrong with anything.

In an exclusive chat with PeepingMoon.com, Cezzane opened up on his views about the sequel, reason behind staying away from television and more. Excerpts:

There’s lot of buzz about Kasautii Zindagi Kay’s remake. What’s your reaction to it?
Yes, I have heard about the sequel and I am sure it’s going to be amazing. I am happy to see the show getting revamped. It’s good.

If given an opportunity, would you like to be a part of it?
Honestly, I don’t know. Nobody has spoken (to me) regarding the same. But, obviously this is the show which has made me. So, I am very happy that Kasauti Zindagi Kay is coming back with its season 2. I can’t say anything about being a part of it.

Someone else will be stepping into your character of Mr. Anurag Basu. What’s your take on it?
I don’t watch Indian shows. So, I wouldn’t know who will be stepping into my shoes. In fact, I have not even watched my shows. I think I'll be the wrong person to comment on it. But yes, I am sure the casting will be nice. It’s going to be a fresh cast. It will surely come out nice. After all, its Ekta Kapoor’s show. I am excited too.

It’s been years we haven’t seen you on small screen. What is keeping Cezzane Khan away from TV?
It’s not that I don’t want to come back. Probably I am not getting something great which I want to do. If I like something worthwhile, I will do it. I want to do TV but something which is interesting and different. I don’t want to do TV just for the sake of doing it. I want to enjoy my work and be happy with the character I play on screen. I haven’t got any such opportunities.

With the new trend of digital shows being popular, is there a possibility of you working on a web-series?
I did get a call for a web series a few months back. But, I couldn’t take that up for some particular reason. Also, I don’t watch web series at all. So again, I won’t be able to comment on it (laughs).
