After action in ‘Maalik’, Rajkummar Rao would like to do an intense love story

Rajkummar Rao, who is going to be seen in gritty action for the first time in Pulkit’s Friday release ‘Maalik’, is hoping to step into another untouched genre of cinema in his 15-year career after this. In a conversation with PeepingMoon.com, the actor who was last seen in the fantasy romantic comedy ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, admitted that he has an “unfulfilled desire” to do an intense love story. “I haven’t done much romance,” Rajkummar said, “so maybe an intense love story would be a good idea.”

But Rajkummar declined to call “romance” his most challenging role. “Action is more physically demanding,” he said. His role in the thriller ‘Maalik’ was among his most challenging and for which he had to undergo training. “An action film like ‘Maalik’ is physically challenging,” he added. But his dream is to do a romantic film that has depth of emotion and depicts a true and intense love. According to him, he has not yet explored himself as much in romance as he should have.

Rajkummar’s character given to bloodshed and violence in ‘Maalik’ has excited the actor’s fans across the country. The trailer shows him in an avatar never seen before. Directed by Pulkit, ‘Maalik’ will see Rajkummar alongside actors like Manushi Chhillar, Huma Qureshi and Prosenjit Chatterjee.
