Mohit Suri’s ‘Saiyaara’ is YRF’s fresh breath of romance starring debutant Ahaan Panday and Bollywood discovery Aneet Padda

In this season of action entertainers, Yash Raj Films brings a fresh, new love story to the screens on July 18. Directed by Mohit Suri, who made captivating films like ‘Aashiqui 2’ and ‘Ek Villain’, ‘Saiyaara’ will pair Ahaan Panday (Ananya Panday’s cousin) alongside Aneet Padda who cut her teeth in Revathi’s 2022 slice-of-life drama ‘Salaam Venky’ with a stellar cast including Kajol, Vishal Jethwa, and Rahul Bose. The young actress, who is a familiar face on TV commercials, followed this with Amazon Prime Video’s series ‘Big Girls Don't Cry’ in 2024. ‘Saiyaara’ is Aneet’s first lead role and aficionados of the romance genre are keen to see how YRF’s pairs her with Ahan in this intense drama of heartbreak and passion.

Ahaan, meanwhile, is not new to the camera. He worked behind it as an assistant director in ‘Freaky Ali’ and ‘Rock On 2’ (2016) and ‘The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984’ (2023). Now he makes his debut as an actor in ‘Saiyaara’. This is Mohit’s first outing with YRF. How will his brand of emotion and romance work for this big production house? The teaser of the film has evoked great interest in viewers and promises a deep and passionate love story revolving around this new Bollywood jodi. It also hints at the heights of love and depths of breakup the couple endure in their relationship. The title track of the film, ‘Saiyaara’ featuring emerging artists from Kashmir, has already created a buzz on social media. Now all eyes are on the big screen for its release.
