You cannot beat Amitabh Bachchan for sheer energy and enthusiasm when it comes to making films. The actor, who is 76, is indefatigable. Just when you thought Mr. Bachchan would take a break after finishing his schedule in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund, and S. J. Surya’s Tamil-Hindi bilingual Tera Yaar Hoon Main, he kicked off Rumi Jaffrey’s Chehre just two days ago. This after delivering one of 2019’s biggest box office hits with Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla in March.
Now, PeepingMoon.com is astonished to learn that the veteran actor has just signed Shoojit Sircar’s next film as well. At the time, it is not certain whether Shoojit will direct it or just back the film as producer. The project is said to be inspired by a real story and will have one more young male actor besides Mr. Bachchan. In talks for the role is Ayushmann Khurrana. If he comes on board, Shoojit would have managed to bring two much-loved versatile actors on screen together for the first time.
Although details of the film are not known, PeepingMoon.com sources say that Juhi Chaturvedi has written the script. And with Juhi as the writer, this yet-untitled project will mark the reunion of Mr. Bachchan, Shoojit and Juhi four years after their comedy-drama Piku. It'll also be the second time Ayushmann will collaborate with the writer-director after his debut with Vicky Donor in 2012.
Meanwhile, Shoojit is currently shooting the legendary freedom fighter Sardar Uddham Singh biopic in St. Petersburg. Starring Vicky Kaushal, the film will also be shot on the outskirts of London, Ireland, Germany and in India over the next seven months. Ayushmann is busy with Amar Kaushik’s Bala and has Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan scheduled to roll in September. As for Mr. Bachchan, he is energy plus and yeh dil maange more!
