'Can't say or do anything about it' - Vinta Nanda opens up on how Alok Nath's wife reacted to her ordeal 20 years ago

Writer-producer of 90’s popular TV show Tara, Vinta Nanda, recently sent shock waves across the film and television industry after she accused veteran actor Alok Nath for harassing and raping her. In a Facebook post, she recalled the horrific incident that happened 20 years ago and stated how she finally mustered up courage to stand up against the 'sanskaari' actor.

Not to forget, Vinta happened to be the best friend of Alok Nath's wife, Ashu Singh. When a media portal quizzed Vinta recently if she shared what she went through with her friend, she said that Ashu not only ended their friendship but also refused to believe her. "I spoke to his wife. She said she can't say or do anything about it," she added.

Meanwhile, in a press conference held on Tuesday, Vinta further divulged details about the incident saying that she waited 19 years for this moment to come and claimed that she feels fearless now since she has finally let the burden out. She said, "Everyone who has been exploited must come out. The sound of silence is deafening. Trust me, today I feel liberated."

Furthermore, when asked why she didn’t raise the alarm when the incident first took place, she revealed that she had written and about the incident earlier as well but failed to garner support from the industry people. However, this time, CINTAA has extended 'full support' to Vinta and she herself feels empowered to get such positive reactions from the film fraternity.

Alok Nath’s lawyer Ashok Sarogi, on the other hand, has claimed that the actor is in mental trauma with the accusation and they may take a legal action against Vinta, if required.
