Trust the straight-talking daughter of Shatrughan ‘Shotgun’ Sinha to tell it like it is. The Ittefaq actress, who won praise for her recent performance, spoke out about the alleged catfights between actresses in the film industry. She retorted, “I don’t understand why that’s said only about heroines. I can tell you men are more insecure and also gossip more than women (laughs). They are the ones who gossip the most!”
Sona, as she is popularly known, has seen enough of the Bollywood circuit to comment knowledgeably about the behaviour of its denizens. And she has faced her share of rumoured catfights, as well as shut them down like a pro. Last year, when an entertainment channel claimed that she and Sonam had ignored each other at an awards function, Sonam tweeted back saying, “Sona I don't remember avoiding you!!! Lol @sonakshisinh. Kya kya news likthe hain!...” Sonakshi, was quick to confirm that the duo had even spent together, tweeting, “Ya and we forgot to click a selfie as proof when we were hanging two days back... Next time.”

Sonam herself took to social media earlier this year to shut down rumours of alleged catfights between her and Kareena Kapoor as they filmed Veere Di Wedding. “Dear websites, you can put out as many ‘blind items’ (aka gossip you were too lazy to fact-check) as you like pitting women against each other. It may get you clicks but it won’t be the truth. Must you insist on shoving this tired patriarchal concept of women cat fighting into our film (which is not about a road trip) as if grown, intelligent women have nothing better to do…Please keep in mind how outdated, irresponsible, and harmful your narrative is and frustrating for a culture of women who actually want to work together. There is no place for it anymore.”
