Ms Marvel: Iman Vellani stars as MCU’s first Muslim teenage superhero Kamala Khan in an exciting trailer

The trailer and poster of Marvel Studios’ upcoming series Ms Marvel was unveiled by Disney+Hotstar recently. The series is highly-anticipated as it brings forth MCU’s newest and very first teenage Muslim-American superhero to fore. Iman Vellani stars in the lead role as Kamala Khan in Ms Marvel, a high-school going teenager who must balance between her academic life, her family and her emerging super powers.

The series follows the life of a teenage girl from Jersey City who is fixated on superhero comics and is traversing the turbulent adolescent years while grappling with various issues like ethnicity, future studies, boys and other. She is all types of geek, a voracious fan-fiction scribe, an avid gamer and admires Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. However, her life takes a different turn when she acquires superpowers.

Ms Marvel is directed by an ensemble of filmmakers including Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon. The cast of the series consists of Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.

The series starts streaming June 8 on Disney+.
