Varun Dhawan to play the lead in Raj & DK's Indian version of Priyanka Chopra Jonas' global thriller Citadel?

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo’s global thriller multi-series titled Citadel is one of the most awaited shows. It is a multi-layered global franchise with interconnected local language productions from India, Italy and Mexico. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden are a part of the series. The shooting of Citadel is happening in London at present. Indian filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have been roped in to write and direct the Hindi edition.

As per reports, the action-adventure espionage series will consist of a "mothership series" and other local language "satellite series". The main series featuring Priyanka, Richard and others is expected to premiere on OTT in January next year. Now, according to the latest reports, Varun Dhawan has been roped in to play the lead in the Indian version of Citadel directed by Raj and DK. It is being said that the Indian leg of Citadel will go on floors early next year. Reportedly, the cast and crew of Raj and DK's version will be announced soon.

According to reports, the satellite series will be independently set but there will be crossovers with the main series and cross-references between the various local series. 

Workwise, Varun wrapped the shoot of Bhediya. He will be seen in Jug Jugg Jeeyo too. Raj and DK are currently focusing on their web show with Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi and Raashii Khanna. Their last series, The Family Man 2, was a huge hit.
