Shilpa Shetty tries to recreate her iconic song Chura Ke Dil Mera with Meezaan in Hungama 2, but Akshay Kumar is sorely missed!

After 26 years, Shilpa Shetty has recreated one of her most iconic songs, Chura Ke Dil Mera, in Hungama 2. The Priyadarshan film marks her acting comeback after 13 years. The original song from Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994) featured Shilpa with Akshay Kumar, this time she can be seen stealing Meezaan's heart. Chura Ke Dil Mera released today and made fans of Shilpa nostalgic. While the original hook step and tune have been retained, there are more dance steps included in the new version.

The new version of Chura Ke Dil Mera is making the right amount of noise, just like the original. There is no doubt that the song will be a part of every party hereon. However, we do miss Akshay Kumar. Meezaan, the son of Jaaved Jaaferi, dances well but the magic of Akshay and Shilpa is lacking.

The original Chura Ke Dil Mera was sung by the melodious Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. Every word in the original was felt and emoted beautifully by the singers. However, the flavour lacks in the reprised version. The new version has Anmol Malik and Benny Dayal behind the mic. Sadly, Anu Malik has ruined his iconic composition.

Late Saroj Khan must be sheerly disappointed with the choreography that looks more like exercise. While the chemistry between Shilpa and Akshay looked real in the original, the actress looks uncomfortable recreating the same with Meezaan. The energy seems to be missing.

Though Chura Ke Dil Mera's new version is nowhere close to the original, we must not fail to appreciate Shilpa for ageing gracefully. She has retained her beauty, charm and grace and this reflects in her performance. Different songs, different films but what remains the same is Shilpa's figure and her love for leopard print. In the original, she chose to wear a two-piece leopard print outfit whereas in the new one, it is more of a fusion saree.

Well, this is what we feel about Hungama 2's Chura Ke Dil Mera. What is your take?
