Ekta Kapoor gives birthday bonanza as she announces Ridhi Dogra-Monica Dogra's 'The Married Woman 2' & 'The Queens of Chambal'

Content czarina Ekta Kapoor celebrated her birthday on Monday. As she turned a year old, Ekta gave her followers and audience a massive gift. The return gift is a show that is close to Ekta's heart, and she is ready to present it to the world. TV doyenne and now an OTT Queen, Ekta, is set to bring The Queens of Chambal, an interesting tale of women from the heartlands of Chambal. A show with two female protagonists set in the backdrop of Chambal sounds like something we all have been waiting for.

Ekta Kapoor herself dropped the poster on her Instagram while announcing the big-ticket project. Touted to be the next big series on the digital space, The Queens of Chambal seems to be an action drama laced with power and emotions, and it will stream on ALTBalaji. The poster, a graphical illustration, gives us a glimpse of what the show will be about. Two strong-headed women rule and lead the otherwise patriarchal gangdom of Chambal. In the poster, we see the two women, supposedly gal pals, sitting on a pile of dead bodies with their rifles in position and having a laugh. Not that we enjoy blood bath, but we will not deny that we do enjoy badass women on screen.

However, it seems that was not the only birthday present Ekta had for her fans and followers. She has more. Just before the day could culminate, Ekta dropped yet another big surprise. She has renewed the much popular show The Married Woman for yet another season. Yes, you read that right. Monica Dogra and Ridhi Dogra-starrer, The Married Woman, has been commissioned for the second season. During a press conference hosted by RJ Rohini, the lead cast including, Ridhi Dogra, Monica Dogra, and Suhaas Ahuja, were reunited to announce the second season. Earlier in the day, the makers had dropped a teaser hinting at the surprise.

Ridhi Dogra, who played the married woman in the show said, "I am so glad that it has been happened during Pride Month." Talking about where she wishes to see Astha in the second season, she added, I want to see Astha in Paris! I don't know if Hemant would follow her. But I want the season to open in Paris."

Monica Dogra, who played a pansexual Peeplika in the show, added,"I want them to have another shot. I want their reunion, something I heard from a lot of fans. I would like to give them happy moments."

Suhaas Ahuja, who played Hemant had a hysterical twist for the second season. "Because Astha is depressed, he takes her to Paris. And there Peeplika falls in love with Hemant. Meanwhile Astha becomes like Peeplika, while Hemant will tame down Peeplika and make her sanskaari.
