Rachel McAdams’ and Will Ferrell’s song ‘Volcano Man’ from Netflix’s ‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’ is hilariously funny and over-the-top

Netflix is releasing an original comedy film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, this June. The teaser of the film and its soundtrack Arista Records has come out with a hilarious music video that features the two leads Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, and that too in full Eurovision getup. The song is called Volcano Man and is supposedly about a man who, well, lives in a volcano.

The song’s video is over-the-top and hilariously funny with Ferrell coming up with weird expressions and he and Rachel resorting to making snow angels and playing synthesizers in their costume. The Eurovision songs have been stereotyped for their vapidness and Ferrell and Rachel both bring out the necessary hamminess to make it funny. The makeup is also over the top with silver lipstick and bizarre costumes with the video’s dramatic location by a cliffside and fire and ice both in the background is a fitting substitute for the immensely popular song competition. The Eurovision this year is canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is directed by David Dobkin and also stars Pierce Brosnan, Demi Lovato and Dan Stevens. Ferrell and Rachel portray aspiring musicians who are given the chance to compete at Eurovision in an opportunity of a lifetime. The soundtrack will release on June 26, and will feature original songs from the film, including one performed by Lovato.
