Watch: Pankaj Tripathi spells cruel and engima as he pronounces 'Aham Brahmasmi' thrice in the latest promo of Sacred Games 2

As the second season of the much-awaited Netflix web series, Sacred Games 2 is all set to premiere on August 15, 2019, the makers have been building up the anticipation by releasing interesting and intriguing promos of the central characters of the show. After introducing us to Ganesh Gaitonde(Nawazuddin Siddiqui), Sartaj Singh(Saif Ali Khan) and Batya Abelman(Kalki Koechlin), Netflix dropped in the promo and introductory video of Guruji aka Pankaj Tripathi. With this clipping, Netflix has definitely made the wait for the show seriously difficult.

Speaking of the promo, it addresses the existence of woes and sufferings with snippets of deaths of Cuckoo, Katekar, Jojo and even Gaitonde being beaten up play appearing onscreen. A voiceover narrates that woes and suffering is engulfed around India and the world where sadness overrules. The voice further says the world needs saving and puts forth a question that 'is the world worth saving'. Soon, we can see a calm Pankaj educating us that what God couldn't do, humans shall do so and then repeats 'Aham Brahmasmi' thrice. With a mask of spirituality, it seems Pankaj is the one menacing and cruel personalities we shall come across in the latest season of Sacred Games 2.

Pankaj's look as Guruji is said to be inspired by the spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh, who garnered a cult status after his 'religious movement' gained momentum in the 80s. The intriguing Guruji, introduced in season one as Gaitonde's 'third father', plays a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events that shape the next season.

Inspired by author Vikram Chandra's best-selling novel, the first season of Sacred Games received viewer appreciation and critical acclaim worldwide for its gritty plot and power-packed performances. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan have directed the new season. The second season introduces new characters played by Kalki and Ranvir Shorey. The fresh season is all set to go on air on August 15, 2019 on Netflix.
