Renowned filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap first collaborated to make four short stories in an anthology film titled Bombay Talkies. It was followed by Lust Stories in 2018, where each of them showcased one story revolving love, lust and desire. Now the four directors are planning to work yet again, this time to venture into horror genre with a project, titled Ghost Stories, for streaming giant Netflix. According to a source close to the development, Zoya has already finalised her script. "Zoya has a script ready and she will soon be filming her short. It is a quirky but really scary story and this will be her first stint with the horror genre. But everyone who has heard the story has loved it," as quoted by an entertainment portal.
What's more? Zoya has reportedly locked in Janhvi Kapoor for her horror story. "Janhvi Kapoor is the one who will essay the main protagonist in Zoya's short. Zoya and Janhvi met and the actress was bowled over by the script. It didn't take too much of convincing and Ghost Stories will mark Janhvi's debut into the digital world as well. She has also alloted her dates for the same and since it's a 30-minute short, it will be wrapped up in about ten days of shoot," added the source.
Well, if the report is indeed true, we are certainly excited Janhvi explore the horror genre in her maiden digital project.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak and is currently busy shooting for a biopic on IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena. Apart from that, she has horror-comedy RoohiAfza with Rajkummar Rao, Dostana 2 alongside Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar's magnum opus Takht, in the pipeline.
