Saif Ali Khan to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, meet the cast of Sacred Games 2 reimagined as gangsters from the ’70s

Netflix' Sacred Games is undoubtedly one of the most successful web series made in India. with the second season all set to release on August 15, 2019, the digital entertainment platform has been unveiling some exciting clipping and posters, leaving us intrigued. Now, the makers of the crime thriller have dropped in yet another poster that allows its viewers to read between the lines to understand the story. On Monday, Netflix, on its Instagram account shared a picture from a photoshoot done by the cast-Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Jatin Sarna, Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey, Surveen Chawla and Luke Kenny. The picture in consideration sees the team dressed as gangsters of 1970s and subtly indicates what can be expected from the fresh season. 

"Meet the cast of Sacred Games 2 reimagined as gangsters from the ’70s. They might play gritty characters on screen, but this ultra glam shoot tells us a whole different story. Here’s a sneak peek into the exciting new season, and what each character has to offer," Netflix captioned as they shared the picture. Although, what caught our attention is Jatin's and Surveena's characters were killed in the first season and we are wondering if this could mean their return. Some characters like Katekar and Kuckoo are missing.

Based on author Vikram Chandra's best-selling novel, the first season of Sacred Games received viewer appreciation and critical acclaim worldwide for its gritty plot and power-packed performances. The second season of the popular show will be back with a new trail of betrayal, crime, passion and a thrilling chase through Mumbai's underbelly featuring Saif as Sartaj Singh and Nawazuddin as Ganesh Gaitonde. While the intriguing Guruji (Pankaj), introduced in season one as Gaitonde's 'third father', will play a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events. Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan have directed the new season.
