Karisma Kapoor to make her digital debut with ALTBalaji's web series titled 'Mentalhood'

Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan is now an international sensation because of his last outing – the Netflix web series Sacred Games. Reports were making rounds that his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan is also in talks for making a digital debut. However, a leading daily reported that it is in fact, Kareena’s sister Karisma Kapoor who has signed the next deal for Ekta Kapoor's digital platform ALTBalaji.

The daily reported that Karisma has already locked the script and dates for the web series earlier. Now, news comes in that the makers have titled the show as Mentalhood, instead of Mental, which was their initial choice. The daily reported, "Salman Khan and Sohail Khan have already registered the title Mental under their name so Ekta couldn't get the name for Lolo's show. She is also producing Mental Hai Kya with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. So, they decided to call the web series Mentalhood instead, keeping the essence of the word, which is the crux of the story."

Karisma was last seen in Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishq which released in 2012. After that, she did not take up any new projects. In an earlier interview, she mentioned, “I am happy being a mother. I’m not closed to the idea of acting again, but unless there’s something that really touches my heart, I won’t take anything up.” Reportedly, it wasn’t long until the actress gave her nod to the idea of a digital debut and joined the bandwagon.

Ekta has recently worked with Kareena on her comeback film Veere Di Wedding and it is known that the actor-producer duo, Kareena and Ekta, share a great bond, making this deal easier to crack.

The daily reported further, “Saif and Bebo asked Karisma to hear the script. She agreed to do that. She liked the story and realized that the web is a burgeoning space, so she decided to give it a shot.”
