End of an era in Indian music: Ekta Kapoor to Rahul Vaidya, television fraternity mourns the loss of 'Bharat Ratna' Lata Mangeshkar

Legendary playback singer and Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar left the fans and fraternity in the state of mourning with her heavenly abode today, on February 6, 2022. Fondly known as ‘Lata Ji’ or ‘Didi’ the iconic playback singer was recently tested positive with COVID-19 and was on and off on a ventilator until she breathed her last today. She was 92.

Several celebrities from the television industry mourned the loss of the iconic singer.

Indian Film and Television producer Ekta Kapoor extended her condolences with an emotional note.

Umar Riaz, Karan Kundra, Aly Goni, Himanshi Khurana and Asim Riaz paid their last respects to the legendary singer.

Rahul Vaidya mourned the demise of the icon sharing an emotional video.

Abhinav Shukla and Rubina Dilak too, offered their heartfelt tribute to the Bharat Ratna.

Actresses Hina Khan, Gauahar Khan, Mouni Roy, Surbhi Jyoti and Surbhi Chandna honoured Lata Ji’s legacy with a heartwarming post.

Conferred with multiple awards and prestigious titles such as Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, France’s Officer of the Legion of Honour, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, multiple National Awards and Filmfare Awards amongst many others, Lata ji was known for her iconic, soulful voice that would touch hearts of many.
