Ghost Stories

Ace filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, and Dibakar Banerjee, after Lust Stories, have collaborated for yet another anthology titled Ghost Stories. Living up to the title of the film, the four-story amalgamation will be nothing short of thrilling and spooky. This spookfest stars Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vijay Varma, Avinash Tiwary, Kusha Kapila, Gulshan Devaiah, Surekha Sikri amongst others. Tracing different tales led by different actors, Ghost Stories will be a blend of jump scares and thrill. The film premiered on Netflix on January 1, 2020 (Dec 31, 2019 midnight)

Four More Shots Please! Season 2

Bold, uninhibited and all things fun, Bani J, Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari and Maanvi Gagroo are set to return with Four More Shots Please! in 2020 and we can’t keep calm. Focusing on the highs and lows a millennial woman experiences, the show was a massive hit on the digital front and became a rage among fans. Taking the tale forward, Samir Kochhar and Shibani Dandekar will join the four actresses and Prateik Babbar, Lisa Ray, Amrita Puri, Milind Soman and Neil Bhoopalam who were a part of the first season too. Baarish Season 2

Anuj and Gauravi aka Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi have collaborated for the second time with Baarish Season 2. With the first one being super successful, the makers greenlit the second edition and the filming has already begun. Considering the impact of the sweet, innocent and honest love story of the lead actors and their chemistry, fans couldn’t help but demand a continuation and with the second season, we are sure, mausam zaroor badalne wala hai!

 

Mirzapur Season 2

In 2020, Kaleen bhaiyya aka Pankaj Tripathi, with Mirzapur 2, will take us on an edge-of-the-seat thrilling journey. Coming from the house of Farhan Akhtar’s and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, the first edition of this crime thriller received a thumbs up from the audience who were left in awe of the immense talent that every frame comprised of. Now, with the second one, the tale, the makers promise to delve deeper into the nasty world of mafia. Guddu, played by Ali Fazal might seek revenge from the Tripathi that is Kaleen bhaiyya aka Akhandanand Tripathi and Phoolchand Tripathi, better known as Munna, for the death of Sweety (Shriya Pilgaonkar) and Bablu (Vikrant Massey).

Never Kiss Your Best Friend

After going missing from the small screen, Nakuul Mehta is all set to make a comeback but with his digital debut titled Never Kiss Your Best Friend. Starring Anya Singh opposite him, the show will premiere on January 22, 2020. Revolving around the tale of Tanie and Sumer, who become soul mates, the story is told from the female protagonist’s point of view and focuses on how a kiss changed the dynamics of their relationship. The web show is based on Sumrit Shahi’s best-selling novel of the same name.

Breathe Season 2

Post the successful first season of Breathe, Amazon Prime Originals has greenlit its second season. Starring a fresh cast comprising of Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher and Nithya Menen, Amit Sadh will be reprising his role as Kabir Sawant. Breathe 2 marks the digital debut of Abhishek, Nithya and Saiyami. Like the previous installment that featured R Madhavan in the lead role, Breathe 2 will be a psychological thriller based on the lives of ordinary people who come face-to-face with extraordinary circumstances.

The Family Man Season 2

Words fall short to describe the magic that The Family Man aka Manoj Bajpayee cast on the screens. The actor, with the series, created a rage among fans that owing to its popularity, the makers greenlit the second season within months. Tracing the story of Srikant Tiwari, a world-class spy who strikes a balance between his highly secretive job and family. Smart and sharp, the first season was a blockbuster. Now, in the second season, southern superstar Samantha Akkineni joins the cast and all we can say, The Family Man 2 is going to be bigger, better and all things exciting.

Bandish Bandits

The Indian musical Bandish Bandits is an interesting addition to the digital content one can binge on to in 2020. Based on the story of an Indian classical singer Radhe and a pop star Tamanna, the web series will be directed by Anand Tiwari and created by Amritpal Singh Bindra’s Still and Still Media Creative. To premiere on Amazon Prime Video, Bandish Bandits is said to be a ‘millennial love story set against the backdrop of a clash between pop and Hindustani classical music.’ The music for the web series will be given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Singh Chaudhry as said to be the lead actors.

Abhay Deol’s untitled web show on Indo-China war

PeepingMoon.com was the first to inform its readers that Abhay Deol will be starring in a web series based on the Indo-China war that took place in 1962. Recently, the actor, on his social media platforms, confirmed the news. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the Hotstar web show will star Abhay as a military man in a meaty lead role. The show has already gone on floors and will premiere in 2020. This yet-to-be-titled web series will be the most expensive one that will air on Hotstar.

Operation Terror: Black Tornado

Based on Sandeep Unnithan’s book Black Tornado: The Three Sieges of Mumbai 26/11, ZEE5 has greenlit a project titled Operation Terror: Black Tornado. Starring Arjan Bajwa, Arjun Bijlani, Mukul Dev, Vivek Dahiya, Tara Alisha Berry, Sid Makkad, Vikram Gaikwad and Avinash Wadhwan in important roles, the eight-episode series will narrate the events that led to the prolonged terror siege. Co-created and directed by Matthew Leutwyler, Operation Terror: Black Tornado will be produced by Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe Pictures.

Apaharan Season 2

Apaharan starring Arunoday Singh, Varun Badola, Nidhi Singh and Mahie Gill in the lead role, was a sure shot success. With fans raving about its rustic content with a touch of reality, the show was one of the most-watched ones on the web. Now, owing to the massive popularity of the first season, the makers have planned to come up with its sequel. Promising it to be more thrilling than the first, the audience can’t wait for further updates.

Tribhanga

After much wait, Kajol is finally making her web debut with Renuka Shahane directed Tribhanga. The web series that will premiere on Netflix revolves around the three generations of a dysfunctional family based in Mumbai. Showcasing the importance of family in everyday lives, Tribhanga will be a heartwarming tale. Apart from Kajol, it stars Mithila Palkar, Tanvi Azmi, Kunal Roy Kapur and Vaibhav Tatwawaadi. It is produced by Ajay Devgn’s production house Ajay Devgn Ffilms with Siddharth P Malhotra and Banijay Asia.

 

Guilty

After teaming up with her mentor Karan Johar for the anthology-Lust Stories, that gave her recognition, Kiara Advani will be back on the web with Netflix’ and Karan’s digital content production company- Dharmatic’s Guilty. As per reports, Kiara will be playing a musician whose boyfriend is accused of rape by a small-town girl. The film will travel through its course through Kiara’s point of view. It is directed by Ruchi Narain and the makers made the announcement by revealing Kiara’s look. According to PeepingMoon.com sources, Alia Bhatt’s childhood friend Akansha Ranjan Kapoor will be making her debut with the series. 

Delhi Crime Season 2

Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi is all set to return to the webspace with Delhi Crime 2. Well, yes. PeepingMoon.com exclusively has it that Netflix has already greenlit the project, which will be based on the Nithari Kand or 2006 Noida Serial Murders, wherein seventeen people were murdered and eleven were female. Similar to the first season where the horrendous case of Nirbhaya rape and murder was dealt with in a sensitive and responsible way, the second part is expected to be equally intriguing and tightly directed by Richie Mehta. Joining Shefali will be Rajesh Tailang aka Inspector Bhupendra Singh from the first season.

The Forgotten Army

Marking filmmaker Kabir Khan’s digital debut, the web series titled The Forgotten Army, based on the fight for freedom will bring rumoured couple Sunny Kaushal and debutante Sharvari Wagh together on screen for the very first time. With an intriguing promo that was released a while ago, the makers have upped the anticipation for the show that will release on Independence Day 2020. Well, it seems Kabir is now set to cast his directorial magic and charm on the digital platform too.
