Looking at all the couture and ensembles, it is safe to say that it was an eventful year for the fashion industry and was owned by both, emerging as well as the established players of the circuit. Intricate and heavenly lehenga, bold and jaw dropping gowns, trendy athleisure and fancy casuals…we saw some absolute stunning creation coming across from some very talented designers.
So as the year comes to an end, here are few names that dominated the fashion industry, one outfit at a time!
SABYASACHI MUKHERJEE
Unconventional silhouettes, intricate craftsmanship and timeless pieces, this year we had many reasons to fall head over heels for Sabyasachi’s heavenly collections.
Apart from his ethereal lehenga, Sabya also contributed to women’s everyday wardrobe with a variety of kaftans, anarkalis, and bohemian collections, to name a few. It won’t be wrong to say, this year belonged to him and his creation considering the fact that many celebrities turned sexy Sabya muses.
Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas amongst many others is a fan of his artwork.
FALGUNI SHANE PEACOCK
Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock were on fire with their scintillating couture and ethereal ensembles.

Blending traditional with glamour, these couturiers surely stole the limelight this year.

ABU JANI-SANDEEP KHOSLA
Being in the showbiz for 33 years, the designer duo of Abu-Sandeep has contributed a lot to the fashion fraternity with their surreal masterpieces.
Using elements like pearls, gemstones, sequins, zardozi details and resham threads, this designer-duo narrates a tale of sophistication and regality with their work.

These couturiers have dressed to the likes of the Bachchans, Ambanis, actress Sara Ali Khan and mother Amrita Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Karan Johar, to name a few.
ANAMIKA KHANNA
Bringing the best of the bohemian world, designer Anamika Khanna and her creation took over the tinsel town with a sartorial storm.
This year, many celebrities embraced the bold prints, detailed capes and indie couture with open arms.
Sonakshi Sinha, Isha Ambani Piramal, Nita Ambani, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Katrina Kaif, Kiara Advani are some of the AK muses that brought back the boho love!

MANISH MALHOTRA
When it comes to reinventing style and crafting couture to perfection, trust Manish to swoon us with his alluring collection, every time!
Working for more than 25 years in the fashion industry, he has carved a niche for himself due to his impeccable work and signature designs.
He has mastered the art of presenting old school glamour with a modern touch using traditional colours, craftsmanship, textures and embroideries.
This was truly the year for Manish as we saw his sequined drapes gaining momentum in the tinsel town.
This ace designer holds a strong fan base in the tinsel town as celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Janhvi Kapoor, amongst others flaunt his stunning artwork.
AMIT AGGARWAL
While some designers manage to capture the old world glamour, designer Amit Aggarwal takes us to the year 2050 with his futuristic collection.
An arresting mix of stripes, metallic textures with electrifying colours has always been his signature style and it has always worked wonders on our tinsel town celebs.
Three-dimensional blouses, new age drapes and structured gowns are his go-to staples which makes him different than the rest of the lot.
B-town celebs like Malaika Arora, Kriti Sanon, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday, Alia Bhatt were spotted a lot this year wearing his creation.
MASABA GUPTA
Bold, ballsy and beautiful; Masaba strikes a perfect balance between fierce and feminine with her unconventional ensembles.
Gupta's design aesthetic is a conscious blend of contemporary and traditional that features bold and unconventional prints, breezy silhouettes and bright colours sans embellishments. Dramatic dhotis, quirky jumpsuits and feminine drapes, her collection have always been a breath of fresh air. From gen next aspirant in LFW to an established designer, Masaba and her craft has come a long way in the fashion circuit.
Apart from BFF Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and mother Neena Gupta, Bolly beauties like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Ananya Panday and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have vouched for her contemporary creation.
GAURI AND NAINIKA
Making florals prints, bright hues and ruffle extravaganza their signature staples, designers - Gauri and Nainika exhibit the fun, flamboyant and feisty side of the feminine creation.
They play around the idea of their couture are the results are stunning thigh slits, rogue ruffles, fauxy feathers and some satin goodness!
Tinsel town divas such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut and Vaani Kapoor quite often sported their sexy silhouettes throughout this year.
GAURAV GUPTA
It won’t be wrong to say that GG creates art as his work features the best of sculpted couture.
Romantic ruffles, structured shoulders, sheer detailing have always been his signature style of work which worked its charm on us, every single time. Taking his masterpieces to Cannes and Emmy, GG surely garnered some serious attention.
Tinsel town celebrities like Ayushmann Khurrana, Karan Johar, Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte, Huma Quershi have played muse to this couturier.
KUNAL RAWAL
Just like Masaba, Kunal stepped foot in the fashion fraternity as gen-next designer and never looked back since then.
His design aesthetic blends traditional with contemporary and the result is – one modern Indian man! Rawal explores different textures, patterns and motifs that always work in a symphony of his creation.
Actor and BFF Arjun Kapoor have always been a fan of Rawal’s collection as he was seen adorning his various creation on many occasions. Apart from Arjun, Kunal has dressed the Bollywood biggies like Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ranbir Kapoor amongst others.
