25-year-old K-Pop singer Moonbin passes away due to alleged suicide; ASTRO member to have a quiet funeral

South Korean singer-actor Moonbin is no more. On April 19, the 25-year-old ASTRO member was reportedly found dead at his residence by his manager who summoned the police for further investigation. Reportedly, the manager went to his residence around 8 pm local time after he didn't show up for a rehearsal. According to reports, the Seoul Gangnam Police claimed that Moonbin took his own life and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of his untimely demise.

Moonbin's management agency, Fantagio, announced the heartbreaking news on social media. In the official statement, the agency wrote, "First of all, we would like to express our apologies for bringing you such sad and heartbreaking news. On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."

The management agency further said, "Although it cannot be compared to the grief of the bereaved family who lost their beloved son and brother, the ASTRO members, as well as our fellow Fantagio artists and executives, are deeply mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock. It is even more painful to deliver the sudden news to the fans who have supported Moonbin and sent him generous love. We are more heartbroken because we know the heart of the deceased who always loved and thought of his fans more than anyone else."

The team requested fans and the media to "refrain from speculative and malicious reports so that the bereaved family who is deeply saddened by the sudden sad news can mourn the deceased." The statement mentioned, "The funeral will be held as quietly as possible with family, friends and company colleagues in attendance."

Moonbin was a part of Astro since its debut in 2016 under Fantagio Entertainment.
