From Rockstar to Aashiqui 2, Bollywood’s greatest love stories were defined by music and Chand Mera Dil seems ready to continue that legacy

Some Bollywood love stories are remembered for their characters, some for their dialogues but the truly timeless ones are remembered because of their music. Films like Rockstar, Aashiqui 2 and Tamasha continue to live in audiences’ hearts largely because their songs became emotional extensions of the story itself. Long after the films left theatres, the music stayed behind like a memory people kept returning to. That is exactly the space Chand Mera Dil seems to be stepping into.

Even before its release, the film’s soundtrack has already started building a strong emotional connection with listeners. In an era where songs often disappear within days of release, the music of Chand Mera Dil feels refreshingly sincere. There’s softness, longing, romance, and heartbreak woven into the tracks, the kind of emotions that define memorable Bollywood love stories.

What makes albums from films like Rockstar or Aashiqui 2 special is not just the popularity of the songs, but how deeply they become attached to people’s personal emotions and memories. Whether it was Jordan’s pain in Rockstar or the aching romance of Aashiqui 2, the music became the soul of those films. Chand Mera Dil appears to understand that emotional grammar very well.

The growing response to the soundtrack also suggests audiences are craving musical romance again,  stories where songs are not inserted merely for commercial value, but become part of the storytelling itself. Every glimpse, every lyrical moment, and every melody released from the film so far carries a certain old-school Bollywood warmth that feels increasingly rare today.

At a time when theatrical love stories are trying to rediscover their emotional identity, Chand Mera Dil seems to be betting heavily on its music to create that magic. And if the soundtrack continues to resonate this strongly, the film may very well become one of those romantic albums audiences continue listening to long after the credits roll.

Presented by Dharma Productions, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke deSouza. Directed by Vivek Soni, the movie is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on May 22, 2026.
