Storyline

We have all seen countless stories, films, and TV serials based on Krishna. However, this one feels different. The title itself, “Hridyam” (The Heart), beautifully reflects how many women gave their hearts to Krishna, yet Radha remained eternal. This story is told from Satyabhama’s perspective, offering an unique and refreshing lens. Adapted from Raam Mori’s ‘Satyabhama’, the film brings a much-needed spotlight to her layered presence, reclaiming her voice in a meaningful way. It is a musical film that explores love, devotion, and destiny, emphasizing Krishna’s emotional journey and his role in the ‘Mahabharata’. The film also gives importance to characters like Rukmini, adding more emotional depth to the narrative.

Acting

Siddharth Gupta as Shree Krishna is absolutely mesmerizing, you simply won’t be able to take your eyes off him. He feels perfectly suited for the character. Sushmitha Bhatt as Radha has embodied the role so beautifully that you may momentarily forget all the portrayals of Radha you’ve seen in the past. Sanskruti Jayana is truly the star of the show. She has more screen time than the other actresses and delivers a strong performance, barring a few dialogues that could have been better. Nivaashiyini Krishnan as Rukmini also deserves special mention and applause for her performance, adding depth and grace to the character. Jackie Shroff’s special appearance is impactful and adds a powerful sense of gravitas that stays with you.

Direction

Hardik Gajjar deserves a bow for presenting a story that people have already seen thousands of times, yet making it feel fresh and engaging with music and unexplored aspects of Krishna’s life. The VFX is very well executed, the editing is seamless, and the vast, beautifully designed sets add richness to the film.

Production

Producer Sajan Raj Kurup, through Creativeland Studios Entertainment, has crafted a truly magnificent cinematic experience, independently and without the backing of any major studio, an achievement that reflects immense courage and conviction. Visually breathtaking and rich in soul, the film stands as a grand spectacle best experienced in theatres. It celebrates truth, peace, dharma, and devotion while commanding both attention and admiration.

Dialogues

“Purush hamesha ahankaar mein rehta hai aur stree irsha mein”, this one dialogue itself reflects how much depth the film offers through its characters. Nivaashiyini Krishnan as Rukmini especially deserves applause for her performance and presence.

Music

As mentioned earlier, this is a musical film, and Irshad Kamil truly works magic with his lyrics. The musical score by Prasad S further elevates the film, with soul-stirring compositions and beautifully choreographed sequences that transport you into a different world.

Overall

If you want to fall in love with Krishnavataram all over again, then this film is definitely worth watching. It’s an experience you will cherish for a long time.
