Jonathan Majors out of custody after being arrested in NYC for allegedly assaulting girlfriend; Marvel star's rep says 'He's done nothing wrong'

Jonathan Majors was arrested in Manhattan on Saturday on the grounds of strangulation, assault, and harassment. Reportedly, he was arrested around 11.15 am on Saturday morning near West 22nd Street and 8th Avenue in Chelsea from an apartment after a woman, who is said to be his girlfriend, told the cops about being assaulted. told the police that she was assaulted.

According to an international publication, Jonathan's girlfriend told the police that they got into an argument while in a taxi returning home from a bar in Brooklyn. As per sources, she saw another woman texting the actor and confronted him. The alleged victim reportedly informed the cops that Jonathan got mad at her and grabbed her hand and slapped her.

The publication's report further stated that Jonathan put his hands around her neck during the alleged assault and then she was dropped off somewhere while the actor spent the night elsewhere. The alleged victim sustained injuries on her head and her back, including a laceration behind her ear, redness and marks on her face. She was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital and is stable now. 

While Jonathan was arrested and taken to jail immediately, he is currently out of custody but reportedly without bail. Reacting to the whole incident, the actor's rep told in a statement, "He's done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

Jonathan was widely appreciated for his performance in MCU's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He also starred in Michael B. Jordan's directorial, Creed III.
