Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are ready to walk down the aisle to get married! The pair- who rekindled their romance last year- is engaged. The news was confirmed by a rep of Jennifer to an online portal. She also shared the news in her On the JLO newsletter days after she was spotted wearing an engagement ring earlier this week. This is the second time that the couple have gotten engaged after calling it quits 17 years ago. At that time they had called off their engagement and parted ways but this time around they are ready to get married.
Jennifer revealed the exciting news in an email to her inner circle whereas she shared a message to her countless fans that included a clip of the actress admiring her engagement ring- a huge, green diamond on her ring finger, an image that was also shared by her sister on social media. She took to Twitter to share the ‘major announcement’ and said, “So I have a really exciting and special story to share,’ and added a diamond ring emoji to her Twitter handle.

Ben and Jennifer rekindled their romance and made in official last year, when the latter dropped a photo on Instagram of kissing the actor on her 52nd birthday party. Recently Ben showed support for his wife-to-be when he cheered her on with his son Samuel and her daughter Emme as Jennifer received the Icon Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March.
Recently, in an interview, Jennifer spoke about the changed equation in their relationship from when they first dated in the early 2000s and said, “We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. It's a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other. We always did, but we have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions. We have been in the game in the public eye long enough to know who we are as people and what really matters and what doesn't matter. We have kids and we respect each other. ... We really live our lives in a way we can be proud of and our kids can be proud of you. We're just operating from a place of love and respect for everyone in our lives and that is very important to us. We know what the truth is (and) we hold it sacred.”
Jennifer shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony whereas Ben shares three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner- Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13 and Samuel, 10. Ben and Jennifer got engaged in 2002 but split up two years later in 2004, calling off their wedding just days before the date. Apparently, the media glare on their relationship had took a toll on their lives and they went their separate ways eventually Jennifer getting married to Marc Anthony and Ben marrying Jennifer Garner.
In an interview with a portal in December, Ben had spoken about feeling “lucky” to have been given second chances in life both personally and professionally. He had said, “I've had second chances in my career. I've had second chances as a human being. Life is difficult, and we are always failing and hopefully learning from those failures The one thing you really need to avail yourself of the opportunities provided from that growth is the second chance. I've definitely tried to take advantage of that. I haven't always been successful, but in cases in which I have, they've turned out to be the defining aspects of my life."
