On Tuesday, Tristan Thompson issued a two-part statement on his Instagram story, where he publicly committed to co-parenting his baby son with Maralee Nichols and apologized to Khloe Kardashian for the “heartache and humiliation” he has caused her. Tristan Thompson’s statements arrived after Maralee Nichols filed a lawsuit claiming that the basketball player is the father of her baby boy, who was born on December 2 last year. Maralee has also sued Tristan for child support. It has been reported that during the course of the lawsuit, Tristan Thompson repeatedly asked for the DNA test of the baby boy. A paternity test result has revealed that Tristan fathered a child with Maralee, the former confirmed through his Instagram handle.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Tristan wrote, "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both privately and publicly."

In another story, he addressed Kardashian and wrote, “Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you.  You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions have certainly not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you, regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

This confession comes after a headline-making legal battle with Nichols.
