‘Did sleep with students, and that was wrong,’ says James Franco admitting his sexual misconduct and battling sex addiction

James Franco has finally broken his silence almost four years after he was first accused of sexually inappropriate conduct and exploitation by at least five women at his now inoperative acting school. In a recent podcast with Jess Cagle, Franco admitted that he indeed slept with students and had suffered from sex addiction.

He said, “I did sleep with students, and that was wrong. I suppose at the time, my thinking was if it’s consensual, OK. At the time I was not clearheaded.” However, the actor also said that he had not been running the school for that purpose.

Franco said that he had been sober from alcohol but his sex addiction got worse over the time. He said, “It’s (sex) such a powerful drug. I got hooked on it for 20 more years. The insidious part of that is that I stayed sober from alcohol all that time.”

Franco had previously denied the whole thing when the allegations were first made. However, he agreed to pay $2.2 million to settle the suit filed by two of his former students who accused him of inappropriate and sexual behaviour. During the podcast, Franco said that he has been doing some introspecting and trying to change that aspect of his personality.
