‘Everybody is super sexy in slow motion,’ says Jessica Chastain as she responds to her viral moment with Oscar Issac at the Venice Film Festival red carpet

Jessica Chastain has responded to the red carpet viral video of Oscar Issac kissing her inner arm at the Venice Film Festival. Appearing on a talk show, she addressed the viral moment and her friendship with Issac and said, “We’re acting, but also Oscar and I have been friends — we went to college together — so we’ve been friends more than half of our lives, and we know so much about each other.”

She further said, “Let me just say, though, this is a slow-motion video, and everybody is super sexy in slow motion. I think it was really funny because when you look at it in regular speed, I’m looking straight ahead and he looks over at me. He just kind of goes to give me a peck on my elbow, and at the same time, I’m going to give him a hug. So all of a sudden, his face ends up in my armpit. We have all been locked in our houses for so long. When this video went viral, I was like, people just need to see people touch and hold each other.”

Jessica’s and Issac’s red carpet moment lit up the internet giving a shout out to their crackling chemistry that transcends to real-life from their reel-life. While attending the premiere of their upcoming HBO miniseries Scenes From a Marriage at the Venice International Film Festival, the co-stars shared a sweet moment that was captured on camera and swiftly went viral. In a slow motion video, Issac can be seen looking at Jessica and proceeds to kiss her inner arm. Jessica responds by cupping his face and smiling at him; the video even elicited a response from Mindy Kaling who quipped to Jessica, “Why is Oscar Isaac the only person allowed to kiss your inner arm.”

Jessica later took to social media to post a picture of Gomez Addams (John Astin) from The Addams Family kissing his wife Morticia (Carolyn Jones) in a similar manner after the video went viral. Jessica’s tweet was alluding to the fact that Issac voices Gomez’s character in the new The Addams Family 2 film and poking fun at the red carpet moment.

Besides Scenes From a Marriage, Jessica and Issac starred in the 2014 crime drama A Most Violent Year. Their film Scenes From a Marriage premieres on HBO on Sept. 12. The stars are happily married in real life, Jessica to Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo since 2017 whereas Issac is married to Elvira Lind also since 2017.
