Eternals trailer: Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani and others answer the burning question of why they did not help Avengers fight Thanos

Marvel Studios debuted the exciting final trailer and the official poster for Eternals, the third film in the MCU’s Phase Four, coming to cinemas soon in India, is directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao. Marvel Studios’ Eternals welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants. Along with the trailer, a brand new poster was also dropped.

The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman.

The new Eternals trailer brings up the question why they didn’t help the Avengers fight Thanos. Salma’s Ajak, the spiritual leader of Eternals answers, “Five years ago, Thanos erased half of the population of the universe. But the people of this planet brought everyone back with the snap of a finger. The sudden return of the population provided the necessary energy for the emergence to begin.” Sersi (Gemma Chan) explains elsewhere in the trailer that Eternals came to Earth 7000 years ago and gets asked by the lone human Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) the big question, “Why didn't you guys help fight Thanos? Or any war? Or all the other terrible things throughout history?” Sersi says they were “instructed not to interfere in any human conflicts unless Deviants were involved.”

The trailer shows a variety of monsters and the fact that things are now changing so the Eternals will finally have to stand up and fight. Eternals is out in late October in Indian cinemas, and November 5 in the US.
