Offered to sell her the catalogue back but her team refused: Scooter Braun finally breaks his silence on his feud with Taylor Swift

Scooter Braun has commented on his feud with Taylor Swift. The feud started after Scooter purchased Big Machine Label Group for $300 million which was once the owner of Taylor’s first six studio albums and master recordings. He had received a public drubbing from the pop star and her legions of fans who called him a “bully” for stealing her hard-earned IP without reasonable terms for its return. Since then, Taylor has been recreating her older albums one by one as rerecording restrictions expire. She had said that she was “sad and grossed out” and called out Scooter for the “incessant, manipulative bullying” that she’s allegedly received at his hands for years and said this is her “worst case scenario.” Reportedly, Scooter later sold Taylor’s master to Shamrock for $300 million.

Now in an interview with an online portal, Scooter responded to Taylor’s allegations and said, “All of what happened has been very confusing and not based on anything factual. I don’t know what story she was told. I asked for her to sit down with me several times, but she refused. I offered to sell her the catalogue back and went under NDA but her team refused. It all seems very unfortunate. Open communication is important and can lead to understanding. She and I only met briefly three or four times in the past, and all our interactions were really friendly and kind. I find her to be an incredibly talented artist and wish her nothing but the best.”

He further spoke about Taylor’s personal attack and the word that struck him was ‘bully’. He said, “The one thing I’m proudest of in that moment was that my artists and team stood by me. They know my character and my truth. That meant a lot to me. In the long run, I’m happy for my life’s work to be the legacy I leave behind.”

Taylor had slammed Scooter saying that her master recordings were sold without her knowledge.
