Christopher Nolan's Tenet to release in 70 territories before the US starting August 26, 2020

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Christopher Nolan's much-awaited film Tenet has been delayed several times. While fans are excited to watch the high-octane thriller, the makers were waiting for theatres to reopen after months of shutdown. Now, in the latest development, there is a piece of good news. The Warner Bros.' sci-fi thriller featuring Robert Pattinson and John David Washington in the lead, will release in over 70 countries starting August 26. The film will then open in selected cities in the US over Labour Day weekend on September 3. 

Warner Bros., on Monday, announced that Tenet will be launching in theatres at the end of August in territories like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United Kingdom. The decision to release it in India, China, South Africa and other regions is yet to be taken.

The decision to release Tenet in theatres by August end has come across as a piece of welcome news to cinema owners. They have been counting on big-budget films to revive the business and help the audience step out of the house during the pandemic. America’s biggest cinema chain, AMC announced reopening plans for mid-to-late August while Regal and Cinemark are to unveil their strategies.

Tenet is touted to be an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage. It also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Caine, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Clemence Poesy.
