Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has shared an emotional 10-minute tribute video on Instagram for his father who passed away recently. He delivered the emotional speech at his father Rocky Johnson’s funeral service. The video shows a visibly moved Dwayne talking about his father who had such a huge impact on his life and career. He also penned a heartfelt note in the same post for his Dad. Late Rocky Johnson passed away at the age of 75 on January 15.

He captioned the tribute video, “Dad, you lived a full and meaningful life. You trail blazed and even harder, you changed people’s harsh behaviors toward a man of color. Paving the way for me, my family and generations to come. You loved us with the capacity of which you could - given all the givens. Raised me with an iron hand and a tough complicated love. A love that now, as a father and man, I’ve learned to refine as I raise my own children. I wish I had one more shot. To say one more thing. You were taken too fast. Slipped right thru my hands. But you were so loved, lived so full, defined culture and now you rest high. Peacefully. And that makes my heart smile. I love you and now I have an angel to call by name. I’ll see you down the road, Soulman. Til we meet again. Your son.”

Dwayne also revealed recently the cause of his father’s death. In an emotional video, he said that his father died from a heart attack. He said that his legendary father had not been feeling well and was suffering from cold and infection. He also revealed that he had deep vein thrombosis which is a clot in the leg. Dwayne in the post said that his father had a big blood clot in his leg that broke fee and travelled up his body right to his lung that resulted in a massive heart attack.

Rocky Johnson was a legendary wrestler whose career in the wrestling ring lasted for nearly three decades. He was the former son-in-law of wrestling legend Peter Maivia. After retirement, he trained Dwayne for wrestling and a career in WWE. Dwayne debuted in WWE as Rocky Maivia, his name was a tribute to his father and his grandfather. His ring name was later changed to The Rock and went on to become one of the most accomplished and well-known wrestlers before embarking on a successful Hollywood career.
